1. Basic Principles of Globelite in treating your Personal Data

Globelite strictly adheres to the following basic principles in the protection of your Personal Data:

Globelite shall collect, process and use your Personal Data in accordance with the laws and statutes on data protection of the Federal Republic of Germany and those of the European Union.
Globelite shall use your Personal Data solely to provide the Globelite Services for which you have registered yourself to you. In no event shall Globelite pass your Personal Data on to any third party, neither for advertising, marketing nor for any other purpose.
With the exception of some general information about your profession, you decide all by yourself, i.e. which of your Personal Data you present to the Globelite community. These data may be displayed by Globelite to other members of Globelite.
Any person not registered at Globelite may only view your Personal Data to the extent you enable and allow them to do so.

2. What does Globelite know about you, what do you allow Globelite to do, and what happens with your Personal Data?

2.1 Registration Data

In order for the Globelite Services to function, Globelite needs to collect and process certain of your Personal Data in the course of the registration process. First of all, this consists of the following data:

Email address
Password
Timezone

Your password and/or your email address are not visible to any Globelite member at any time. In no event shall Globelite disclose or pass your password and/or your email address on to any third party.

Further, you need to fill out the following Personal Data in the course of the registration process (mandatory fields):

First name, Last name
Birthday
Gender
City
Country

The following mandatory Personal Data is accessible to other Globelite members without any restrictions:

First name, Last name
Gender
City
Country

2.2 Voluntary Data

If you wish, you may voluntarily provide additional information about yourself, in order to allow other Globelite members to better get to know you so they can possibly choose you as a qualified business contact. At the time being, you may choose for example from the following voluntary data: Your interests, your education, companies you have previously worked for, what you have to offer to other Globelite members, what you are looking for from other Globelite members, etc. You may also upload a photograph of yourself, if you wish.

2.3 Your Contact Site, Contact Management

All other Globelite members may access your Contact Site and view the information displayed on the Contact Site, including Voluntary Data you have specified to be accessible to all other Globelite members. Certain Globelite members may be allowed to see more of your Voluntary Data in accordance with your authorization for the particular Globelite member.

If you contact Globelite members with a contact request, they are stored on your Contact Site in your contact list. When confirming your contact request, this member shall be counted for you as a so called "confirmed contact". Globelite members may at all times only view your list of confirmed contacts.

3. Invitations

As a member of Globelite you may invite other people to become a member of Globelite if you have invitation privileges. Globelite shall process the personal data collected in the course of the invitation solely for the invitation and Globelite shall not use it for any other purposes. In case an invited person confirms your invitation, he/she will automatically be added on your confirmed contact list.

4. Newsletter, Status E-Mails

Globelite regularly sends out customized newsletters or status e-mails (collectively hereinafter referred to as the "newsletter(s)") to all Globelite members. You obtain newsletters in behalf of your desire. In these newsletters Globelite may inform you, among other things, about new features on Globelite, about upcoming events, and Globelite may also provide you with specific personal statistics from the respective past calendar week (i.e. the number of your Contact Site hits, whether you have new contacts to be confirmed and/or new private messages, etc.).

You may choose to unsubscribe from the newsletter at any time.

5. Cookies

After you have logged in to the Globelite Services with your email and password, Globelite uses cookies in order to identify you during the course of your session. One cookie will be stored on your computer.

6. Changes to Privacy Conditions

Globelite reserves the right to amend these Privacy Conditions in the event this is necessary due to gaps identified only after their release, or in the event this is necessary with respect to additional or amended services provided by Globelite. Globelite will notify you of any amendments of these Privacy Conditions via e-mail.
